Process · How an engagement works
Six steps from "hi" to handover
Whichever tier you choose, the first 4 steps are identical. Only Step 5 (Delivery) differs.
We publish the process here so you can decide whether it fits your way of working before you ever email us. If the cadence sounds far off from how you'd want this to go, saving both sides a 30-minute discovery call is a good thing.
Universal flow · 6 steps
01 · You get in touch
10 min
Fill out the /contact form or email directly. Mentioning "advisory" in the subject helps routing. No long brief needed — a paragraph describing your situation is enough.
We reply within 1 business day with a Cal.com link.
02 · 30-min discovery call
30 min
Google Meet. We drive the conversation with about 10 structured questions about your team, current stack, and the decision you're facing. We'll tell you on the call which tier we think fits — or whether we think advisory isn't the right spend for you right now (this happens; we'd rather say so).
You'll hear our recommendation verbally on the call; written confirmation within 24 hours.
03 · Tier recommendation + proposal
Within 24 hours
Written 2–3 page proposal: scope, deliverables, timeline, investment, terms. One sample deliverable attached so you know what "done" looks like. Valid for 14 days.
Reply "confirmed" to proceed, or come back with questions. We don't chase — one follow-up after 5 days, then the ball is in your court.
04 · Contract + first payment
3 business days
Contract PDF, signed via reply-confirm or DocuSign. First payment due within 3 business days. **Work does not start until payment clears** — this protects both sides.
First payment amount depends on tier: Snapshot/Review 100% upfront, Audit 50%, Setup 30%.
05 · Kick-off + delivery
Varies by tier
Kick-off call confirms scope and access. Weekly written progress updates so you always know where we are. Tiers ≥ 4 weeks include a mid-project check-in. See the per-tier breakdown below for weekly cadence.
You always know which step we're at, what's next, and what (if anything) we need from you.
06 · Handover + post-delivery support
Varies by tier
Final deliverables packaged and delivered (PDF, deck, repo, recording — depends on tier). Final invoice issued. Audit/Setup include 2 async follow-up rounds within 60 days; Full Setup includes 30 days of post-launch technical support.
Handover isn't the end — we honor the follow-up window even after the project closes.
Per-tier breakdown · What you provide, what we deliver
The "your total time" estimate for each tier is a real estimate, not a pitch.
Stack Snapshot
5 business days · NT$20,000
For: You've shipped one product and have one specific decision question you want a calibrated second opinion on. Async only — no calls.
- You provide
- Fill a 30-question intake form (20–30 min). That's it.
- We deliver
- 5–8 page PDF written reply: a concrete take on your single most pressing question + 3–5 calibrated recommendations. Delivered within 5 business days of intake + payment cleared.
- Out of scope
- No revisions, no calls, no implementation guidance, no broader stack review.
Your total time: ~30 min over 1 week
Full NT$20,000 credited if you purchase Stack Audit within 90 days of Snapshot delivery.
Stack Review
2 weeks · NT$60,000
For: Teams testing the waters, or with a hypothesis they want a second opinion on. Written report + one Q&A call.
- You provide
- Pre-work questionnaire (30 min) + 60-min recorded system walkthrough or repo read access + Q&A call (30 min).
- We deliver
- Week 1: async research, memo draft. Week 2: final memo (≤10 pages PDF) + 30-min Q&A call.
- Out of scope
- No implementation, no deep audit, no follow-up rounds.
Your total time: ~2 hours over 2 weeks
Stack Audit (flagship)
4–6 weeks · NT$180,000
For: 1–10 person teams about to spin up brand #2/#3 who want a full roadmap before committing engineering capacity.
- You provide
- Pre-work questionnaire (30 min) + read access to repo / auth / email / analytics (Day 3) + architecture walkthrough call (60 min) + mid-project check-in (15 min) + draft report review (60 min) + final review session (90 min).
- We deliver
- Weeks 1–2: deep-dive on auth + email + analytics + deployment. Weeks 3–4: gap analysis + recommendations draft. Week 5: draft circulated for your review. Week 6: final report (≤30 pages PDF) + 90-min recorded review + recommendations deck (≤10 pages). Plus 2 async follow-up rounds available within 60 days of delivery.
- Out of scope
- No implementation (add Full Setup or Implementation Sprint at NT$80K/week for that).
Your total time: ~5 hours over 6 weeks
Full Setup
6–10 weeks · from NT$350,000
For: Teams that have decided, want to land safely without re-discovering known pitfalls, and want us to actually build with you.
- You provide
- Everything in Stack Audit + write access to repos + one engineering teammate paired with us (5–10 hr/week) + decision authority on implementation choices we flag + attendance at the 90-min knowledge-transfer call.
- We deliver
- Phase A (Weeks 1–4): Stack Audit deliverables (compressed to 4 weeks). Phase B (Weeks 5–8/10): implementation of agreed components — typically SSO + email consolidation + analytics + optional admin/member tracking. Phase C: private repo + README + 90-min recorded KT call + 30 days of post-launch async technical support.
- Out of scope
- No implementation of features not in the audit; no long-term operations.
Your total time: ~25–40 hours over 8–10 weeks (most of it your paired engineer's pairing time)
What we won't do
So you don't have to ask later:
- Take idea-stage teams that haven't shipped. Pre-launch, the free lead-magnet PDF at /advisory covers what you'd otherwise pay us for. Come back when you've launched.
- Write code unrelated to our recommendation. Implementation Sprints and Full Setup focus on the audit's top recommendations — not whatever else is on your backlog.
- Be an ongoing fractional CTO. We're project-scoped by design. Quarterly Review retainer (NT$15K/month) is available post-engagement as a standing sounding board, but it's not a CTO replacement.
- Promise specific business outcomes — revenue, MAU, fundraising. We promise the audit + recommendations; outcomes depend on you executing.
- Migrate you to vendors we have referral relationships with by default. We don't take vendor commissions. If we recommend Logto, it's because we use it.
- Work for equity, deferred payment, or "we'll pay you when we raise." No exceptions.
When things change mid-engagement
We try to be predictable. When that breaks, here's the policy:
- You discover additional scope
- Change order: written scope addendum signed; additional fee at NT$5,000/hr
- We miss a timeline milestone
- 1-week written notice + revised date; if delay exceeds 2 weeks, you can cancel for full refund of unused portion
- You miss inputs >5 business days
- Timeline pushes by the same amount; if >10 days unresponsive, we pause and re-confirm before resuming
- Either side wants out
- Within first 7 days: 50% refund. After 7 days: work product to date delivered; no refund. Manyi-initiated cancellation without cause: full refund of unused portion
- You ask for revisions
- Up to 4 hours of revision per deliverable item included. Beyond that: NT$5,000/hr
Full terms in the contract — this table is the spirit, not the letter.
